Junior, Bianca Desai, received honorable mention for her writing for the second annual Kappy Family Anne Frank Art & Writing Competition. The competition was created to empower and inspire today's students to lead our world to a better future. The theme of this year's competition was The Power of Hope. Students in grades 9-12 from Oakland and Macomb County were invited to write about their reflection on the lessons of the Holocaust and to create a written or artistic response to the following quotation from Anne Frank's diary:
"Where there's hope, there's life. It fills us with fresh courage and make us strong again."

In the judges letter to Mr. Sadler they indicated that the judges found Bianca's writing exceptional and meaningful. Bianca was invited to an award ceremony on Thursday, May 17 at the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills. Congratulations!
